Coffee is an integral part of the morning, and the day, for many of us. But are you missing out? There are so many ways to make the perfect cup. You’ll want to try them all.
These are our favorites.
#1 Cinnamon instead of sugar
If you need to cut back on sugar in your coffee, try adding some cinnamon instead. It adds a little sweetness and a lot of extra flavor. You won’t even feel like you’re missing out.
If you’re having an iced coffee, why not turn it into an iced mocha? Just freeze some hot chocolate and add them to your next cold coffee. You won’t regret it.
If your coffee is too bitter, add a pinch of salt. It may not seem like the solution, but it is. The salt will stop you from tasting the bitterness.
#4 Invest in a milk frother
A milk frother is a relatively cheap investment that can end up saving you a lot of money. Now, you can have lattes at home at a fraction of the cost.
#5 Or make frothy milk with the microwave
If you aren’t ready to invest in a frother quite yet, there’s a solution. Take milk, whip it until it starts to thicken, put it in the microwave for thirty seconds, then continue whipping it for the perfect froth.
#6 Use a French press to create espresso
If you need an espresso, grind your coffee beans super-finely and then add them to the French press. Add just enough hot water to cover the grounds and you will have an espresso in just a few minutes.
#7 Our prescription? Get a coffee subscription
There are plenty of companies that offer coffee subscriptions for all tastes and budgets. Order new coffee beans right to your door.
Make coffee ice cubes and never have watered down iced coffee again. Just make some extra coffee the next time you pour yourself a cup and pour that excess coffee into an ice cube tray.
#9 Add cream and sugar to your coffee ice cubes
Instead of making plain coffee ice cubes, if you usually have milk or sugar in your coffee, add some to your coffee ice cubes so they are ready to go. They’ll melt into your coffee perfectly without affecting the flavor.
Create a golden latte for flavor and health. Include two cups of milk alternative, half a teaspoon of cinnamon, one teaspoon of honey, and a little black pepper to make an amazing latte.
#11 Add a little homemade syrup
Syrups are actually really easy to make. Heat two cups of sugar and two cups of water until the sugar is dissolved, then add the flavor you would like. Vanilla, berry, or caramel are great choices.
Add a little flavor with vanilla, orange zest or a caramel drizzle. There’s nothing you can’t add to coffee (well, you might want to skip the chicken and pea flavoring).
Find out where the deals are. Get loyalty cards and get on mailing lists. Apps are another great way to get discounts and freebies.
If you want a perfectly piping hot coffee, don’t pour it into a cold cup and ruin the effect. Warm the cup up under hot water first.
Avoid unsightly coffee stains on mugs. Have a perfect cup every time by scrubbing away stains with baking soda and a sponge.
#16 Coffee goes in everything!
Don’t stop at just drinking coffee! Include it in your baking. Have you tried coffee brownies yet? What about coffee cheesecake?
#17 Disinfect your coffee maker
Don’t forget to clean your coffee maker or espresso machine regularly to avoid build-up and to make sure the only flavor you are getting is coffee. Just run some vinegar through it as if you were making coffee. Then do the same with plain water a few times to rinse it out.
Bulletproof coffee is exactly what you need when you’re running low on energy. Add butter to your coffee for that extra boost.
If butter in your coffee doesn’t sound that appealing, there are other options. Consider coconut oil or ghee.
#20 Reheat without the microwave
Don’t reheat coffee in a microwave. Reheat it on the stove to retain the flavor and heat it evenly.
#21 Cold brew coffee hack
Add coffee beans and water together on a blender, grind and blend it all together, and then let it sit for eight to twelve hours. You’ll have an amazing cold-brew coffee.
If the blender seems like too much of a pain, there are cold-brew pods that you can buy and skip the hassle. Pop a pod into a jar with some cold water and leave it in the fridge overnight.
There is nothing like roasting your own coffee beans, but not everyone wants to invest in the equipment. Luckily, a popcorn maker does the same thing, and without the need for any more appliances.
Iced coffee is excellent in summer, but popsicles are even better. Bring back this childhood favorite with a coffee twist.
Heat milk and then add it to a French press. By moving the plunger up and down, you will create froth in no time at all.
According to science, coffee before a short nap will leave you feeling refreshed. Who can argue with science?
#27 Reuse your coffee grounds
Don’t just throw out your coffee grounds after using them. They can help reduce refrigerator odors and clean clogged drains.
#28 Grow beautiful plants
You can also use old coffee grounds to give plants a boost. The potassium, nitrogen, and other minerals in coffee grounds are great to add to soil.
#29 Find another use for coffee filters
Do you have extra coffee filters sitting around gathering dust ever since you switched over to pods? Use them for craft projects.
Keeping coffee in the freezer won’t keep it fresh. Find a jar with a tight lid and place them in a cool and dry place.
Skip the additives in creamer and make your own. The best part is you can add any sweetener or flavoring that you want.
Are you looking for the perfect non-dairy creamer? Consider cashew milk. You can even make your own with this
recipe.
#33 Milk and sugar ice cubes
Sometimes, the perfect iced coffee needs the perfect cream and sugar, in the form of ice cubes. On a hot day, add the cream and sugar in a flawless form.
You can also freeze cubes of milk and a bit of sweetener.
Are you tired of cold coffee in takeaway cups? Invest in a travel mug to keep coffee hot for hours.
Very hot coffee can taste bitter. If you let it sit a few minutes, the flavor will become more complex, and less bitter.
#36 Exfoliate and refresh
If you have run out of things to do with old coffee grounds, combine them with a spoon of coconut oil and another spoon of salt to make a skin exfoliating scrub.
If you drink, Bailey’s may be a nice addition to an evening coffee. It also makes the flavor of the coffee so much smoother.
Sometimes, the best thing to see in the morning is a coffee mug that cheers you up. Pick a saying or design that expresses your personality.
Time coffee breaks to boost your mood when you need it most. Having coffee at 7 am, noon, and 6 pm will help to level out your body’s natural cortisol production.
