What if you could make the tastiest cookies you’ve ever had just by mixing five ingredients together, scooping that dough onto a tray, and tossing them in the oven?
You’d probably make this Oreo cheesecake cookie recipe as soon as possible.
Yes, a genius human came up with one recipe that combines all these amazingly delicious things: Oreos, cheesecake, and cookies.
That genius human is amateur baker Eloise Head of the Instagram recipe page FitWaffle.
Head’s Instagram pages feature indulgent recipes that are simple enough for everyone to give them a try.
And people were flocking to her page for recipes like crazy during quarantine. Head says she was “very proud to help people keep occupied” while many were staying at home to social distance.
“Your page definitely worked for me, never thought I’d learn how to bake,” one fan wrote on her page.
“I was a lost cause but doing lockdown, I stumbled on your page and baking has helped me out,” said another.
And some of Head’s fans say that her Oreo cheesecake cookie recipe is her best recipe yet.
The post with a video for her recipe was liked more than 28,000 times.
All you need is a pack of Oreos, butter, cream cheese, granulated sugar, and flour.
You don’t even need an electric mixer for this recipe. Just a bowl, mixing spoon, and cookie sheet.
“If you love Oreos you need to try these – you don’t even need eggs,” Head wrote in the post’s caption.
Whisk together your 1/2 a cup of softened cream cheese and 1/2 cup of unsalted softened butter until your mixture becomes light and fluffy.
A mixer will help achieve that light and fluffy texture but you can skip it if your cream cheese and butter are softened enough.
Once you get the right consistency, you can add in 1 cup of sugar in thirds.
Repeat with 1 cup of flour. Gently fold everything together until it is well combined.
Break up 10 Oreos and add the cookie pieces to your dough and mix.
Place your dough in the refrigerator for at least one hour.
Once your dough is done chilling, scoop it onto a greased baking tray. A teaspoon of dough is good for each scoop. You should have enough dough for about 10 to 12 cookies.
Here’s the full recipe:
- 1/2 of softened unsalted butter
- 1/2 of softened cream cheese
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of flour
- 10 Oreos
Step 1) Preheat your oven to 320° F. Next, whisk your softened butter and cream cheese together. You want your mixture to become light and fluffy.
Step 2) Add your sugar in thirds and fold gently until your mixture is combined.
Step 3) Add your flour in thirds and fold gently until your mixture is combined.
Step 4) Break up your Oreos into chunky pieces
Step 5) Toss your cookie piece into your dough and mix so the pieces are evenly disbursed throughout your dough.
Step 6) Let your mixture set up in the refrigerator for an hour.
Step 7) Grease your baking tray.
Step 8) After an hour your dough should have firmed up. Take it out of your refrigerator and scoop a teaspoon of your dough on a greased baking tray. Repeat this for the rest of your dough leaving about an inch and a half between each drop of dough.
Step 9) Bake your cookies for 10 to 12 minutes. You’ll know they are done when the corners turn a golden color.
