Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without delicious treats. And anyone can make these amazing pecan snowballs.
If you want to impress your family this Christmas, then these pecan snowballs are sure to do the job.
They look incredible and taste delicious. But best of all, they’re so easy to bake.
First, you need these six ingredients:
One cup of all-purpose flour.
One cup of diced toasted pecans.
Three tablespoons of sugar.
One stick of butter at room temperature.
One teaspoon of vanilla.
(Later, you’ll need one cup of powdered sugar, but that’s not until after you’ve baked.)
And begin by placing these items into a large bowl. Then mix them all up by hand.
Once the ingredients have all formed into a dough, wrap the dough with cling wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
While the dough is chilling, preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Then take the dough out of the fridge. Pull a small amount of the dough off and roll it into a one-inch ball.
Place it on a baking tray lined with a baking sheet. Continue doing this until you’ve used up all of your dough. Keep each ball an inch apart from any other.
You should have ended up with about 24 balls.
Put them on the middle shelf of the oven and bake for 15 minutes.
Once the 15 minutes is up, take the snowballs out of the oven. They should be set but not browned.
Let the balls sit on the tray for a minute or two to cool off.
Then put a cup of powdered sugar into a bowl. Pick up one snowball at a time and roll them in the sugar. (Be careful, because the snowballs are fragile.)
Once a snowball has a coating of sugar on it, place it on a plate to continue cooling.
Once they’re all done, you should still have plenty of powdered sugar left in the bowl.
Leave the snowballs for another 20-25 minutes to cool off completely.
Once the snowballs are completely cool, roll them in the powdered sugar again. They should hold a lot more sugar now.
Chef Jenny Jones uploaded this recipe to her YouTube page, and it soon went viral. To date, it has gained over 2 million views. It also has more than 60,000 likes and 3,200 comments. People have been saying things like this:
And this isn’t Jenny Jones’s only Christmas treat recipe.
She’s also shown how to bake Christmas angel wings.
This recipe is a little more complex than the snowballs, but it’s worth it.
They also need to be deep-fried. Yes, that means they have a lot of calories, but Christmas is a time for indulgence!
But Jenny Jones’s most popular dessert/treat recipe is her chocolate cake that requires no eggs or butter.
Like the snowballs, the majority of the ingredients go into one bowl. First, you add the dry ingredients, which are one and a half cups of all-purpose flour, one cup of sugar, a quarter cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, one teaspoon of baking soda and half a teaspoon of salt.
Then you mix them up.
After that, add one cup of cool water, six tablespoons of vegetable oil, one tablespoon of lemon juice and one teaspoon of vanilla to the bowl.
Then stir these ingredients all together until there are no lumps.
Then pour the mixture into a greased pan lined with parchment paper, and put the pan into an oven that’s preheated to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Leave it baking for 30 minutes. Then leave it to cool for around 10 minutes before removing it. If you want, you can add frosting.
