Quantity

As for the amount, it depends on how many bacon-wrapped Oreos you want to make and the specific way you cook them. So, if you want to make these as an appetizer for a large gathering, you could easily use anywhere from two to four boxes of cookies and one to two pounds of sliced bacon.

Oven method

If you want to bake the bacon-wrapped Oreo’s, start by lining a cookie sheet with foil. Then, lightly spray it with cooking oil. Don’t use much since the bacon will produce its own grease. To assemble, cut strips of bacon in half. Then, lay one piece on the sheet, place an Oreo in the center, and then wrap the ends around the cookie. You can use two strips of bacon that crisscross if wanted. Then, bake at 350-degrees.

Grilling method

If you prefer to make bacon-wrapped Oreo’s on your grill, set the flame to low-medium. Overall, the grilling method takes about an hour but you’ll want to check the cookies every 20 minutes. You’ll assemble the cookies on a flameproof cookie sheet. When using a charcoal grill, you can go with conventional briquettes or those with a hickory or mesquite flavor.

Plain bacon-wrapped Oreo’s

Some people prefer these plain, meaning you’d use nothing but the bacon and cookies. Even without adding any additional ingredients, these are delicious. Everyone will love them. Especially if you have smaller kids, this is probably the better option.

Enhanced bacon-wrapped Oreo’s

To kick things up a notch, you can modify the recipe. For this, you would wrap the Oreo’s, followed by sprinkling a little bit of the habanero powder on one side. Bake or grill them until the top side is crispy. Then, flip them over and drizzle on some honey along with a light dusting of cinnamon, cooking until all the bacon is crispy. The combination of heat and sweetness gives the standard recipe a nice boost in flavor.
