Slow cooker honey garlic chicken thighs

She shared her slow cooker honey garlic chicken thighs and potatoes recipe with us, and the results are truly amazing.

Here’s what you’ll need:

Chicken recipe:

  • 6 to 8 large bone-in thighs
  • 1 large onion, minced
  • 1 lb baby potatoes
  • 2 tsp. oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste (Claudia used 2 tsp. salt and 1 tsp. black pepper for this recipe)
  • 2 Tbs olive oil

For the honey garlic sauce:

  • 2 Tbs lemon juice
  • 6 cloves minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 3 Tbs soy sauce
  • 1 Tbs brown sugar
  • 1 Tbs dijon mustard
  • 1 Tbs corn starch mixed with 2 Tbs water (to be added later)

Directions:

Step 1

In your slow cooker or crockpot, add your 6 to 8 large bone-in thighs, followed by your onion and baby potatoes.

Then, start seasoning it with oregano, salt, and pepper.

Step 2

Drizzle with olive oil and toss everything together. Make sure that everything is mixed properly so that the seasoning will be absorbed equally. Set aside.

Step 3:

Now, it’s time to create the sauce, which will give life to your dish.

Mix lemon juice, cloves minced garlic, 1/2 cup honey, 1/3 cup sweet chili sauce, 3 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, and 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard.

Mix well.

Step 4:

Pour sauce into your crockpot and set it to cook for four to six hours on high.

Step 5:

After five hours, mix chicken a little bit and pour in the slurry, then mix carefully. Cover and let it cook for another hour.

Step 6:

You’re almost done. If you like, you can remove all the excess oil from the chicken so the dish won’t be too oily.
