Of the most common meats that most of us eat, pork is one of the harder ones to prepare properly. Although a pulled pork recipe is easy enough to accomplish, buying a pork chop and cooking in perfectly on a stove top can be tricky. Making sure to buy a good cut of meat is important, along with tenderizing it and seasoning it properly. Once it’s actually in the heat, we have to know how hot to sear it, when to flip it and when to take it off without overcooking it. But what if there were a much easier way?
Fortunately, slow cookers provide an easy solution to the pork chop dinner by taking all of the intermediate steps out of the process. Today, we’re going to show you how to make honey rosemary pork chops in your slow cooker that are so simple. At the end of it all, your meat will be perfectly cooked with a truly unique flavor you’re sure to love. So let’s get started.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 2 pounds of pork chops
- 1 tablespoons of minced garlic
- 1/4 cup of honey
- 1 tablespoon of finely chopped rosemary
- 1 teaspoon of thyme
Here’s what you do:
1. First, start by taking out your pork chops and seasoning both sides of them liberally with salt and pepper. Put those in the bottom of the slow cooker and smear your minced garlic all over the top of them.
2. Next, drizzle your honey all over the pork chops and then sprinkle them with rosemary and thyme as well. Once everything is evenly covered, cover your slow cooker and set it to cook on high for three hours.
3. After the time is up, open it up and make sure that the pork chops are cooked all the way through. If everything looks good, take it out and you’re ready to serve!
The combination of slow heat and sweet honey absorbing into the pork chops makes this recipe so delicious and tender. As we said, this recipe couldn’t be easier to put together and only uses a few ingredients to achieve so much flavor. While the recipe above is only for the pork chops, you can ideally serve these with a side of rice and some green beans to round out the meal as well.
To do this, simply boil the rice about 20 minutes before your three hour cook time is up so that everything finishes at the same time. You can even use frozen green beans as well to make the entire meal simple to finish up. Because the recipe above is so simple and well-balanced, it’s hard to make too many changes to the formula.
