Select whatever packet of au jus gravy mix that you can find. For the ranch dressing mix, one popular brand is Hidden Valley. You want to make sure to use the dry powder kind of mix too, not actual dressing. We want to be clear about that.

Mississippi Pot Roast Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4-pound beef roast, any cut
  • 1 Stick of butter
  • Au jus gravy mix packet
  • Ranch dressing mix packet
  • Pepperoncini peppers as desired

Directions:

1. Choose any beef roast whether that means chuck, rump, or sirloin tip.

2. Sear the outside of it beforehand in a pan if you want, or don’t. It doesn’t matter very much.

3. Put all of the ingredients in the slow cooker and let it go on low-heat until it’s tender. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
