Cake has been there long before we even existed, it is known as one of the most common desserts of all time. It’s a sweet treat for any occasion, may it be a wedding, a birthday, and any family or social gathering. You can also have it as a dessert after a heavy meal, you can actually have it at any time of the day.

Over the years, people were able to develop countless cake recipes, adding more ingredients, and bringing more flavor to their wonderful creations, after all, there are no limits when it comes to its recipe.

There are now lots of delectable cake types like butter cake, sponge cake, chocolate cake, coffee cake, flourless cake, layer cake, one egg cake, and a whole lot more.

But with these myriad cake recipes, people are also coming up with some innovative ideas, and they aim to promote lesser ingredients for a quicker and easier cake recipe. It’s better for those who are running out of budget or just don’t have enough time for the tedious process of baking one.

Thankfully, a YouTube channel called ricette arabe has been sharing a lot of recipes which are mainly pastries. This one, in particular, is an apple-stuffed cake that requires no oil and butter. It’s so easy to make, just wait until you learn the process.

It is easy made much easier!

The video of this recipe was just uploaded in early December last year and it has already amassed over 2.4 million views on YouTube alone, that’s on top of the tens of thousands of likes from people who might have already tried this recipe at their homes.

Without further ado, may we present to you this “no oil and no butter cake” recipe.

Now, go to your kitchen and grab the following ingredients.

For the cake itself:

  • 2 pieces of eggs
  • 100 grams of sugar
  • 100 ml of milk
  • 200 grams of soft wheat flour type ’00’
  • 13 grams of baking powder
  • Vanillin
  • 2 pieces of apples

For the cream:

  • 1 piece of egg
  • 50 grams of sugar
  • 15 grams of corn starch
  • 250 ml of milk

Once you have everything ready, it’s time to nail this no-sweat recipe.

For the cake…

Step Number One: In a mixing bowl, crack the 2 eggs in, add 100 grams of sugar, and the vanillin. Combine ingredients using a hand mixer.

Step Number Two: Add 100 ml of milk, 200 grams of soft wheat flour type ’00’, and 13 grams of baking powder. Whisk the mixture thoroughly until it becomes thick enough. Set aside.

Step Number Three: Grab the 2 pieces of apples and dice them. Then put it in a 28 cm pan (greased).

Step Number Four: Pour the mixture onto the sliced apples, make sure to spread it evenly. Use a spatula to spread the mixture equally.

For the cream…

Step Number One: Grab a deep stainless pan (as seen in the video) then crack 1 egg in. Add 50 grams of sugar, and 15 grams of cornstarch, whisk to combine well.

Step Number Two: Add 250 ml of milk, mix, and put it on the stove with continuous stirring. Wait until the combination becomes creamy.

Step Number Three: Pour it inside a pastry bag or an improvised one, then drip it on top of the cake. Apply according to your preferred style or design.

Step Number Four: Finally, put it in the oven at 180 degrees for 30 minutes. Once the time is up, take it out of the oven and sprinkle some powdered sugar on top for the finishing touches.
