You Can Make Cranberry Apple Cider In A Slow Cooker

October 25th, 2018

What do you typically use your slow cooker for?

Most of the time, we make slow cooker dishes when we’re feeling lazy. All you have to do is throw everything in a pot, season it somewhat, close it up and wait for dinner to be done. Because of this, we usually end up making heartier dishes with meat, potatoes and veggies that yield plenty of plenty of leftovers. Still, we don’t always have to use slow cookers for meals like this—they can also be used to brew up some pretty tasty drinks. In particular, this recipe for cranberry apple cider might change your mind about what you can do with a slow cooker (and just in time for fall).

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1 liter of pure, unsweetened apple juice
  • 2 cups of pure, unsweetened orange juice
  • 1 liter of unsweetened cranberry juice
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon of ground cloves
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1 apple, sliced
  • 4 whole cinnamon sticks
  • 1/2 cup of fresh cranberries

Here’s what you do:

1. Start by pouring your apple juice, orange juice, cranberry juice, sugar and cloves into the slow cooker.
2. Stir it up a few times with a wooden spoon before adding in your sliced orange, sliced apple, cinnamon sticks and cranberries.
3. When it’s all in there, cover the crock pot and set it to cook on low for four hours.
4. When it’s done, scoop a cup out and enjoy! You can even eat the fruit pieces as well.
