We pair it with anything because it is one food that is very filling.

Most bread tastes bland or less salty or sweet, so that makes it perfect for any dish you want to prepare.

However, the problem is it does not last long.

Most kinds of bread can quickly go stale.

Bread can last three to four days at room temperature while placing it in the freeze can increase its shelf life by three to five days.

Still, freezing it can change its texture and can sometimes end up soggy when you heat it.

So before they go stale, whip something up so it won’t go to the waste bin.

Here’s a recipe that will turn your stale bread into a delicious meal for the entire family.

It’s easy to make, and its flavors will make it a sure hit at the dinner table.

Here are the ingredients:

  • 1 piece of stale bread
  • 1 tsp. butter
  • 1 large white onion
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • ½ lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tsp. of salt
  • 1 tsp. red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp. mint
  • 1/2 tsp. of thyme
  • 4 eggs
  • ¾ cup milk
  • Dill
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese

Start by slicing the stale bread into pieces of equal thickness.

Slices can be half an inch thick as long as you have enough pieces to cover your tray. Get a 12-inch pan and grease its area.

Place the bread slices in the pan. You can cut the remaining slices into tiny pieces to fill the gaps in between. Set this aside.

Chop the onion and cloves of garlic and place them in a bowl.

Add the ground pepper and add all the spices. Mix everything using a spatula, or you can use your hands. Make sure that everything is adequately mixed.

Grab some of the ground beef, and mold it using your hands.

For the size and shape, you can base it on the slices of stale bread and form it like a sausage.

Just make sure that your ground beef won’t go beyond the sides of the bread. It is best if all slices have equal sizes of meat on them.

Now, it’s time to make the sauce.

Place all four eggs in a deep cup or bowl and whisk. Add the milk and blend both ingredients thoroughly.

Cut up the dill and add it to the mix. Whisk it one more time.

Pour the sauce into the pan and ensure they’re evenly distributed.

Slice the red and green peppers into cubes and place them in the gaps between the meat.

Place it in the oven at 392 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 minutes.

After 25 minutes, take it out of the oven.

You can already see how yummy it looks at this point, but we can add more flavor to that. Sprinkle some shredded cheese on top of it.

Put it back in the oven at 356 degrees Fahrenheit and bake for 10 minutes.
