That’s right, my friends! Taco Bell just gave us all the fast-food gift of a lifetime- a wine that pairs with our tacos!

Well, technically it was made to pair with a chalupa, but you get the point.

The Bell, as it’s so fondly known, has been the king of the late-night fourth-meal for years now, and everyone knows that the majority of these particular customers have one thing in common- they like their booze.

Of course, we can’t really blame them, can we? What goes better with an American take on cheap Mexican food than some tasty, booze-filled concoctions? Well, apparently, not much.

As it turns out, Taco Bell has been dabbling with the idea of helping its customers booze it up while they mow down for quite a while now. Since 2015, to be exact.

It all started with the kick-off of their chain of Taco Bell Cantinas that started with its first one in Chicago.

The idea was to sell Taco Bell themed margaritas like the Baja Blast or the Cantina Punch, both of which come spiked with either Captain Morgan’s White Rum, Ketel One Vodka, or Don Julio Tequila- based on whatever booze suits your preference.

The side venture was so successful, to absolutely no one’s surprise, that they branched out a little further with their alcohol-inspired ideas.

In 2017, the fast-food chain announced the branding of its very own beer- the Beach Bell Lager.

Described by the chain as being “made with a unique flavor profile to enhance and compliment Taco Bell’s food and flavors. The light, crisp, and refreshing beer has a smooth and robust taste with a clean finish that makes it the perfect beverage to pair with a Taco Bell meal,” how could taco-loving fans not want to give it a try?!

Though the company has already seen great success with their booze launchings, it’s time to raise our glass to The Bell once more- and in a much fancier fashion.

Earlier this month, Taco Bell announced to their loyal fans that they will be launching a whole new type of alcohol to meet the needs of their more bougie fans- Taco Bell Wine.

The announcement came through on the Taco Bell Canada Twitter feed in mid-September and, as you might have guessed, it comes with just one small caveat. The wine is only available to our friends up North, in the province of Ontario (Canada’s 2nd largest province), and as of now, only for a limited amount of time.

As luck would have it, the announcement came with the launch of their latest menu item- the Toasted Cheesy Chalupa.

According to Taco Bell’s Director of Brand Marketing, Kat Garcia, the pairing is, quite simply, a match made in Heaven.

“Wine and cheese are simply meant to be together, so launching a new wine to go with the craveable, cheddary Toasted Cheesy Chalupa made perfect sense,” she said.

They have named their branded wine quite fittingly, as well- Jalapeño Noir.

“At Taco Bell Canada, we love to raise our glass to big, bold ideas that elevate our menu items, and pairing our Toasted Cheesy Chalupa with this Jalapeno Noir is no exception,” Garcia continued.

The highly coveted Jalapeño Noir made its first debut on September 16th and has basically been sold out ever since.

The company is kind to their lush clientele, so they also made it available with their new chalupa through Uber Eats, as well as allowing customers to purchase a bottle off of their website.

It seems, though, that the wine was far more popular than Taco Bell ever expected. It has only been available for 14 days as of this writing and has completely sold out 3 times already!

With quoted notes of “wild strawberry, cherry, and beetroot,” we’re really not surprised.

It would seem that this is one pairing that was truly irresistible. Of course, it could also be due to the novelty of it and the fact that it’s limited-edition, for now at least.

They did recently send out a tweet that there’s a possible 4th run in the making, but so far they’ve left us hanging as to when.

If you don’t have the timely luck of living in Ontario right now, take heart- Taco Bell has announced that their tasty, new Toasted Cheesy Chalupa will hit our Bells this coming November.

As for the wine, well, we’ll just have to wait and see.

They currently acquire the wine itself from the Queenston Mile Vineyard based out of Ontario, and they haven’t made any formal announcements that they plan to market it here just yet.

And just like that, we find ourselves jealous of Canada for the very first time!
