A mother’s love is incomparable, enduring an excruciating pain from giving birth up to the many years of taking care of the family, they do all these without asking something in return.

With this being said, it’s just so painful to hear and see heartbreaking stories of domestic violence. While most men treat women with the utmost respect and profound love, there are just some cruel ones who have the audacity to control women and worse, to physically abuse them.

This mother though was lucky enough to escape from her abusive husband and even luckier to have met two other women who promised “To protect and to serve” her.

It all started when two Dallas officers crossed paths with a 2-year-old.

Officers Reneeshia McIntyre and Delia Pesina happened to be answering a call in an apartment complex when along their way, they stumbled upon the 2-year-old toddler.

The adorable kid became the key to the discovery of the horrible story of their mother.

The toddler invited them to their place and things became clearer than crystal to officers McIntyre and Pesina.

As they spoke with the mother of the kid, they found out that they escaped from the abusive hands of her husband. Together with her 6 children, all under the age of 11, they fled and ended in that apartment where the officers found them.

She had no one else to help her with the kids, no other relatives or friends to help her get back on her feet.

The condition of her apartment was also something that was not conducive for her children to live in.

She doesn’t deserve all this, actually, no mom or any woman deserves such treatment. She obviously needed help and thankfully, her story was heard by the right people.

“We kinda read each other’s minds, you know when you’re partners for so long? And when we were leaving I said ‘So we’re coming back, aren’t we?” – says Officer Delia Pesina

The officers also noticed that the family lacked a lot of everyday essentials.

Their apartment was not the ideal place for 6 kids. To describe the extent of struggle that the mother was going through, officer McIntyre even said,

“She literally was washing a styrofoam plate.”

Gladly, the two lady officers were all up to their job description. They saw what the family needed, they knew that their job was not yet finished, and so they did the necessary.

Officers McIntyre and Pesina wanted this case closed!

They shared the struggling mother’s story to the rest of the officers at their station and, to no one’s surprise, a collective donation was made to help the struggling family.

With the funds that they got, they were able to buy the family some beds, cribs, mattresses, sheets, pillows, furniture, and organizers.

They also gave the family’s apartment a little bit of a renovation.

To them, there’s no such thing as getting too much help. With zero hesitations, the officers made sure that they got her covered.

Pretty soon, their apartment became a conducive place for their family, especially for the kids. It then turned into a place that’s worthy of being called home.

“When we told the children ‘This is where you’re gonna be sleeping”, the excitement on their faces was…it was so heartfelt. We were touched and had to hold back tears.”

They also wanted to make sure that the family, especially the kids, would not be hungry in the following days, so they bought them $250 worth of groceries.

To think that these officers are just generous is actually an understatement. They sure lived up to the demands of their job and they even went above and beyond.

Knowing that this year has been a rough patch for everyone, there’s nothing more humane to do but to help each other cope with whatever struggles that we have and that’s what officers McIntyre and Pesina did.

We need more police officers like them who are not just ready to protect and to serve but also to willingly help those who are in need, with or without badges and uniforms.
