Pineapples are delicious, refreshing, and full of vitamins.

No wonder this fruit became the favorite tabletop accessory for aristocrats and royals. Throughout history, great leaders and kings have written so much of this beautiful fruit.

However, we also know that it’s not the easiest fruit to eat. You can’t just take a pineapple and bite into it.

That is why there have been so many ways on how you can cut the pineapple into serving portions. Your family may even have your own signature way of doing so, but just a few years back, a new way of eating pineapples went viral.

When it comes to food hacks, TikTok is the place to go.

One video talks about how it’s “easier” to eat pineapples, and if you look at the viral video, you would be surprised to see how easy it looked.

Of course, like any other viral food hacks, we would be tempted to try it as well. The question is, does it really work?

Famous YouTube influencer Emmy of Emmymade or Emmymadeinjapan tried the viral “pineapple pullart” technic last 2019.

She wanted to see if this food hack is real or not. But before she proceeds with her video, she shares some very interesting facts about pineapples.

Can you believe that a pineapple is classified as a berry and is a cluster of fruits held together by its core?

Amazing, right?

Not only that, pineapples can regenerate! Even Emmy tried this, and she said it works! Simply plant pineapple leaves or crown and wait for it to grow a new plant.

Though, you need to be a little bit patient because it can take about 18-20 months before your pineapple will be ready to harvest.

According to Emmy, she was able to get three pineapples with different ripeness levels.

She then proceeded in sharing three ways to peel a delicious pineapple.

Method 1 – the viral TikTok video

Emmy took the ripest pineapple first. According to the blog that she read, it’s best to use the ripest since they would be softer and easier to work with.

She decided to remove the crown first. She did it by using a paring knife, and then she cut along into the spaces of each fruit.

She then tried rolling the fruit on her table (any flat hard surface would do), and this should loosen the fruits and make them easier to pull apart.

Emmy tried putting pressure and using her nails on one of the fruits to actually be able to pull it apart. According to her, the fruits at the bottom should be easier to pull apart because they are more yellow and ripe.

She did try to do the trick on the other side of the pineapple, and it was indeed easier to pull apart.

According to her, she noticed on one of the viral videos that the pineapple fruits were already separated before they started recording.

She saw that there were already gaps on each fruit, thus making it very easy to pull apart.

You can see that video here.

Overall, Emmy thinks it was fun to try it, but it was not the best way to eat a pineapple. She said that it was very messy to use this technique because pineapples are very juicy.

Method 2 – the traditional way

Emmy took the second pineapple and said she would share how her dad prepares pineapples.

First, you just have to cut off the crown and the base and then cut the skin off – just enough to expose the eyes of the fruits.

You’ll notice how the eyes follow a spiral pattern, right? Follow that and remove the eyes.

Cut it in four and then remove the core. Cut to bite-sized pieces and enjoy!

It was fast, simple, and definitely not messy.

Method 3 – Emmy’s way

Emmy also has her favorite way of cutting pineapples. According to her, it’s almost the same as her father’s technique, just faster.

Cut off the top and base, and then she cuts more of the pineapple skin. This way, the eyes would be removed, and she won’t have to remove them separately using the spiral technique.

It’s the fastest way to enjoy this delicious and juicy fruit!
